Red Cross Sport First Aid
For sport enthusiasts interested in sport-specific certification in Standard First Aid and CPR "C", this 16-18 hr. course focuses on sport injury prevention and care. This learner-centred workshop encourages discussion and active participation through group activities. Certification is valid for three years. Topics include: Planning for Sport Safety; Preventing Injuries Through Proper Training; Preparing to Help Injured Athletes; Emergency Action Plan; Head and Spine Injuries; Injuries to Soft Tissue and Bone; and Return to Play Guidelines. AED (Automated External Defibrillation) training is also included in this course. 16+ years.
Participants will receive two manuals (Sport First Aid and Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR) and, upon successful completion, a Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR "C"/AED certificate valid for 3 years.
